Ashwagandha is a powerful herb for insomnia, anxiety and stress. It is also beneficial for improving cognition. Now a new study shows that taking even a single dose of ashwagandha can boost your brain.
This double-blind study gave a single dose of 400mg ashwagandha extract or a placebo to 13 healthy people. They then performed cognitive function tests every hour for 6 hours.
Just one dose of ashwagandha improved working memory. It also improved the ability to maintain attention, improving reaction time, preventing mental fatigue and improving vigilance.
This quick little study suggests that ashwagandha very quickly improves working memory, executive function and attention. It makes you quicker and holds off mental fatigue.
